For children experiencing traumatic situations, a furry friend to cuddle
can make a world of difference.
Bears on Patrol is a Kansas City Police Department program that provides
a furry friend to small children in need of comfort during challenging
situations to help them cope. We’re proud to announce that Meyerkord,
Russell & Hergott won the award for the most stuffed animals collected
by a small firm for the Kansas City Paralegal Association’s Bears
on Patrol drive.
With 632 bears collected by Meyerkord, Russell & Hergott, this donation
will make a huge difference in the lives of children in our community.
“We are so grateful for the support of our clients and friends in
collecting the bears for Bears on Patrol,” Meyerkord, Russell &
Hergott Paralegal and KCPA Second Vice President Erin Hessenflow said.
“It’s a great opportunity to give back and the bears make
a huge difference for these kids when they’re in some pretty scary
situations.”
This year, KCPA donated 3,259 bears to the KCPD (beating last year’s
record of 1,400 bears by more than double). KCPA is the only organization
that collects the bears for KCPD, so the donation really makes a difference
in the way KCPD can interact with and comfort the most vulnerable children
in our city.
