2015 National Work Zone Awareness Week

Pay Attention in Work Zones or Pay the Price

March 23, 2015 marks the beginning of the 2015 National Work Zone Awareness week, and the Missouri Department of Transportation is reminding drivers to slow down and pay attention in work zones. MoDOT notes that not all work zones are alike, so vehicles must make sure to take great care in driving through these zones.

Slow Down and Move Over

The Department also reminds Missouri drivers of the "Slow Down and Move Over" law which requires drivers to slow down and change lanes when approaching a MoDOT, law enforcement, or emergency worker. "The law is simple: If you see flashing lights on the side of the road, move over to give workers and emergency personnel plenty of room to stay safe."

Stay Safe Kansas City

At Meyerkord, Russell & Hergott, we want our Kansas City road workers to make it home safely every day. Unfortunately, not all of these workers do, and it's usually the result of a negligent or speeding driver. So stay safe Kansas City: Slow Down and Move Over. If you have any questions or have suffered injury from a negligent driver, contact our firm at once.
